Welcome to Brighter Mindset

Your local, friendly and inclusive counselling service

What does counselling with Brighter Mindset look like?

Counselling (sometimes called Talking Therapy) is a way of helping people that focuses on the person, not just their problems.

  • You will complete our referral form and our Lead Counsellor gets back to you within 48 hours.

  • Once we have your availability and preferences we will start looking for a counsellor to match your requirements.

  • Once matched, the counsellor will reach out to you to arrange a 10 minute introduction call.

  • During the introduction call the counsellor will confirm your details and arrange the date of your first counselling session

  • They will then send you a contract to complete before your first session.

Counselling is your confidential space to discuss everything which affects you. It is a safe space dedicated to you.

I decided to become a Person-Centred Counsellor after starting my own gender transition. I now specialise in working with Trans+ and LGBTQ+ clients, with further experience around sex, kink, sexual abuse and relationships.

I work with a conscious awareness of intersectionality and how different aspects of identity can impact people’s lives and how they are treated in the world. I accept everyone as they are, no matter where you come from or how you identify. My practise is firmly inclusive of sex workers

I offer therapy Mondays and Thursdays via video call or telephone.

I work mostly with people who have experienced complex trauma and neurodivergent individuals. If you struggle with emotional regulation, communication, confidence, self esteem or self harm we may be a good fit. I use personal centred therapy, DBT and experiential therapy – happy to talk through this in your first session.

Being trauma informed is at the heart of all of my sessions, which in a nutshell means understanding how our brain and body responds to times when we feel unsafe. Your sessions will be tailored to your individual needs
